In 1964 Camarillo became a city much to do with city officials who pushed for cal trans to lay the freeway next to Ventura Blvd instead of the original plan of going down Potrero Road.  3M constructed their Micron and Magnetic Tape divisions which brought in 900 people to run the operation who ultimately moved into the area.
