Conejo Valley Horse Communities
The Conejo Valley and surrounding cities are a host to many wonderful options for people who are equestrian-oriented and looking for the ultimate place to house and ride their horses, yet stay within reach of the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. With many miles of protected open space trails there are a multitude of options to enjoy the outdoors on your noble steed. If you are seeking horse properties for sale, there are several wonderful equestrian communities which have private horse facilities which would be in your own backyard. There are also several horse boarding options if owning horse property is not for you. Although there are quite a few equestrian communities in the area, here are a couple we wanted to showcase:
Old Agoura
You can find Old Agoura tucked away in the hills on the east side of the city of Agoura Hills in Los Angeles County. The Old Agoura neighborhood is a quaint equestrian community which is only minutes from shopping and restaurants, 45 minutes from downtown L.A., and 20 minutes from the beaches of Malibu. Although you do not have to have horses to live in the neighborhood, a large percentage of Old Agoura’s residents are equestrian oriented. Many of the Old Agoura homes are on large lots, and have private corrals and horse facilities. Old Agoura also prides itself on a network of horse trails connected to centrally located Old Agoura Park which offers an equestrian arena, baseball field, and playground. Nearby are the protected spaces of Chesebro, Palo Comado Canyon Park, and Liberty Canyon park. Old Agoura is comprised of over 300 custom homes of all shapes, sizes, and architectural styles. The homes were built as early as 1930 with new homes still being built present day on undeveloped Old Agoura land lots. There is no homeowner’s association. Old Agoura brings you back to the old western days of the Conejo Valley with its old town country feel.

Bridle Path
The Bridle Path equestrian community is a hidden gem on the southwestern side of Simi Valley in Ventura County in the Simi hills. It was first developed in the mid-1970’s and is one of only a few areas of the city that are zoned for horses. Bridle path consists of over 630 homes on expansive lots in a quaint community, many with private horse facilities. Bridle Path homes range from 3 to 5 bedrooms and were built from 1977 to 1987. Bridle Path does have an Homeowner’s association. One of the biggest perks for horse lovers living in the Bridle Path community is Bridle Path Mountain Park. It is a stunning 1700 acre private HOA open space park only accessible to Bridle Path residents which offers an abundance of wildlife species. There are other nearby parks and open spaces in the area well. With restaurants, shopping, the Simi Valley Town Center, Ronald Reagan Library, and much more nearby, Bridle Path is a perfect community for equestrian-oriented homeowners who don’t want to stray too far from the city.
